This week the nearly 80 members of our R3M staff gathered for our annual Vision Day; team building, looking forward, and spiritual enrichment. Thank you to Hopevale Church – Saginaw for letting us use their space-it was perfect. To Pastor Mike and Sara from Bay City First Church of the Nazarene for great praise & worship and a message that hit home. To Pastor Robert Loggins for joining us as our guest speaker-always inspiring! And to our CEO, Dan Streeter, for your leadership and vision!
Thank you to the students and faculty of Jessie Loomis Elementary School in Saginaw who delivered blessings for our guests before the Christmas school break. Our visitors stopped by City Rescue Mission with an abundance of boxed cereal for guests in shelter. It’s the simple things that can warm the hearts of people facing homelessness-like having a variety of cereal choices. Thank you Loomis Elementary students and faculty for your kindness and thoughtfulness! Blessings on your new year in 2018!
The generosity of people, businesses, churches, and organizations at this time of year is such a humbling thing to witness. We can’t begin to express the gratitude we have for those of you who care about the homeless, during a time when sadness can shift the atmosphere and draw people away from the true JOY of CHRISTmas. Thank you Pastor Brad & Jodi Haist for stopping by with your annual gifts, to our new friends at Art Sample Home, to Josh at Major Games, and to Pastor William Brown and Mr. Morrison from Transforming Life Church Ministries, to name a few. May our guests feel the warmth and love of your giving this Christmas!
The Pioneers provided City Rescue Mission with 3, 293 lbs. of food for the homeless. The Pioneers, made up of AT&T employees, participate in “Feeding America” each year. The group has designated their food donation to the Mission for the past six years . The donation consisted of meat, 100% juices, fruit, rice, pancake mix and other dry goods. The Mission provided meals and shelter for 131 people this week so we thank AT&T for supporting this great need.
