Saginaw Evening News, November 11, 1905, reported:
“Saginaw’s first City Rescue Mission will open its doors to ‘whosoever will come’ at 111 Genesee Avenue tonight. The founding of the mission has been something long hoped for by many Christian people of this city, and how that one is started, it is receiving very close attention.” That was 113 years ago under the direction of Superintendent George Trotter.
Today, under the direction of CEO, Dan Streeter, City Rescue Mission is serving over 150 men, women, and children nightly. The Saginaw community has embraced the ministry and thousands of churches, organizations, and individuals partner with us to help provide safe, clean shelter, food and direction for “whosoever will come”. In 2017, 1,356 people received emergency shelter services at City Rescue Mission.
Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate 113 years in ministry!
